Come October 23rd 2016, City People Media Group will shut Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital down for the 2016 Ogun state Ankara Adire Fashion Show. This year’s fashion show will be held at the The New Sky Pavilion Banquet Hall, Opic round About Okeilewo, Abeokuta with a special appearance by the wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs Olufunso Amosun alongside spouses of the Ogun State Government functionaries in attendance. More than seven designers will be showcasing their different designs, alongside comedians and hip hop acts , it promises to be a music , comedy and runway evening. BUNMI MUSTAPHA brings you the count down of the most anticipated event in Abeokuta.
MEET THE DESIGNERS DUCHY
Joyce Dupe Jabaar is one of the well-known fashion designers in Ogun State, her label is popularly known as Duchy and she has designed for many celebrities in town including, civil servants, politicians and socialites in Abeokuta. Her label is always flawless and perfect. Two years ago, the curvy designer relocated to Lagos and set up her outfit in Ikeja area. After seeing it all in Lagos, as she said, she came back to Abeokuta which she refers to as her root and since then, she has been able to create a niche for herself. Her clients in Lagos also come around to make their dresses in her new outfit located in Ita Eko area of Abeokuta, where big babes now go for beautiful sophisticated fabrics and fitting design , Duchy has been participating in the City People Fashion show for years and this 2016 edition won’t be an exception as she will be showcasing her new range of exquisite designs.
HOUSE OF QUEENS
Adeyemi Olatomiwa Zainab is a 20 year old entrepreneur, fashion designer and creative director at HOUSE OF QUEENS. She is an undergraduate at Yabatech studying mass communication. Her foray into fashion designing started at a tender age of 12. She is also a stylist and has styled Nigerian celebrities like Toby Grey, Daniella Okeke, Catch 22 model Miss Yamala, just to mention a few. With high hopes and aspirations of becoming one of the youngest and most successful fashion designers, Adeyemi Olatomiwa A.k.a Thy Lady Q , is definitely one to watch out for.
AREMU TRENDZ
Founded in 2015 by an erstwhile ex-journalist, Kazeem Raheem, Aremu Trendz is a fast growing fashion house located in the heart of the ancient town of Ilorin in Kwara State.

A bespoke fashion signature founded 2003, owned by creative designer, Abayomi Animashaun. His designs reflect on the ancient African printings (motif & batiq ). He gets inspirations from the rich African tradition and he aims to modify the African Art in a unique pattern that can be exported to the western world.
He was born in mid 80s to a fashion designer mother ”fashion runs in the blood , and he bagged first degree in Busssiness Administration at the University of Lagos. His outlet is located at the heart of Lagos and his designs suit both sexes.
He is famous with urban, cooperate and traditional styles like Agbada, Danshiki, jalabia He has participated in several fashion exhibitions and has won awards to his credit.
CITISIDE FASHION OUTFIT
Adebisi Oyedele, the MD CEO, Citiside Fashion Outfit, which has three outlets in Ogun State, Owode, Sagamu and Abeokuta have always been on the fashion news in Ogun State. His outfit is no doubt number one when it comes to what is in vougue for big boys in town. His outfit has more than 70percent of the big boys in town as their customers, what makes the boutique stands out is that, they stock designs that are in vogue, and also have a very good customer relations, this explains why big boys in town always visit the boutique enmasse anytime there is new stocks in other to upgrade their wardrobe to taste. He will also be showcasing his newest jackets and other accessories at the show.
MICHEAL OGUNFIDODO
Michael Ogunfidodo is the MD CEO Fidodo ibile concept limited ( Ibile Apparel) he plays big in the Kemta Kampala Adire Market, Itoku Abeokuta. He also have many clients especially from outside the country as his customer. Ibile has been in the business for more than two decades now and he is a a force to be reckoned with in Ogun State. He is also close to the Ogun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, not only that, his dye and die is always beautiful which explains why people rush to his outfit. He is also very fashionable and knows how to play with colours. He is known to be top on the list when it comes to beautiful and stylish adire in bubu style. He is a graduate, and the business runs in the family, Ibile will be showcasing his latest designs of Adire gowns for Ogun celebrity women.
DUSKANI DESIGNS
Omolara Kowoti , the CEO of Dunskani Designs can be described as a Creative minded and passionate entrepreneur, who didn’t allow her humble background to hold her back. In fact, it was quiet the opposite, it brought out her creativity and made her more determined to make a name for herself in the fashion world. Dunskani Designs started two and half years ago and since then her fashion label has been a force to reckon with. As a matter of fact, it is always hard to tell if most of her designs are not ready made from abroad , the young talented fashion designer is a graduate of Business Administration from the Yaba College Of Technology, Lagos , she will also be showcasing at the City People Ogun State Ankara Adire Fashion Show.
WIFE OF OGUN STATE GOVERNOR, MRS OLUFUNSO AMOSUN FOR SPECIAL APPEARANCE
Mrs Olufunso Amosun, the wife of the Ogun State Governor will be making a special appearance at the fashion show. Known to be stylish and fashionable , the show will not be complete without her as she will no doubt be adding plenty of glamour to the event. She also doubles as mother of the day at the event.
SPOUSES OF THE OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT FUNCTIONARIES ASSOCIATION TO STORM THE EVENT
Members of the Spouses of the Ogun State Government Functionaries Association, which the wife of the Ogun State Government is the leader of the association will be gracing the event in a big way. Wife of the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Mrs Adekunbi will also be among members to grace the event.

Beautiful models will be having a mind blowing make over by one of Ogun state’s finest make up artiste Tessy Igwe of HVS Makeover , alongside another young wave making makeup artiste, Rikket Makeover who is also very good at what she does.
OGUN QUEENS AND CELEBRITY WOMEN TO ATTEND
Different Olooris from all parts of Ogun State will also be gracing the event in their full stylish Ankara and adire designs. Celebrity women will also not be left out at the show.
