An 18-year old unemployed man, Yusuf Adebiyi, who allegedly vandalised a vehicle in attempt to steal the battery valued at N16,000 was arraigned in Lagos on Friday, after been arrested.
He appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
Adebiyi, a resident of No. 17, Thomas Lane, Agege, Lagos, is being tried on two-count of damage and stealing.

The Prosecutor, Insp. George Nwosu, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on April 21 at No. 22, Ishola Yusuf St., Dopemu, Lagos.
He said that the defendant unlawfully jumped the fence into a compound to steal the vehicle battery, property of one Mr Akpan Ndifrake.
“The defendant scaled the fence to gain entrance into the complainant’s compound to steal.
Nwosu said that when the complainant heard noise in his compound around 5.00.a.m, he decided to check what was going on and found the defendant inside his vehicle.
