The much-anticipated society for computer professionals, Africa (SCP,Africa) a non-profit organization/IT firm was recently launched inside function room 1 oriental hotel, Lagos state ,Nigeria. The aim and objectives of SCP Africa is to empower African students taking computer and related degrees,moreso, it also deals in information technology, software development, cloud computing, networking ,database, security and what a view.
The event was witnessed by royal fathers, computer scientists and personnel in the academia, the chairman of the occasion was his royal highness, Oba Ayangbure of Ikoroduland, while His Royal Majesty onipapa of papalanto served as the vice chairman. Also present at the event was the rector of Laspotech, he was accompanied by heads of departments, and the chief launcher Mr Steve who has been in the system before now also flew in from his base in Michigan, United States of America to grace the occasion.
SCP Africa’s main thrust is to provide students and specialist a community that will help them reach the height of their professional career. The initiator and founder of SCP Africa Mr Odeyemi Olayinka has reiterated his desire to set up a very formidable IT/firm that will stand the test of time, in his words ‘’Nigeria has the highest working class people in the world, so investment in it is a big business’’. He further explained that a total sum of 500,000 dollars will be granted to any student who can develop software that will be beneficial to everybody. SCP Africa is gearing to be one of the most renowned associations in Africa, the firm hopes to partner with different technology groups, organizations and affiliations to help bring about success and accomplishment for its members.
