Leading electronics manufacturers, Samsung has introduced the latest version of its interactive whiteboard solution, otherwise known as e-Board into the Nigerian market. Based on the latest operating system from Microsoft, Windows 10, the 82 inches board is a radical improvement on the first version which was launched into the market few years ago on Windows 7 operating system.
This latest iteration is less bulky to ship around as it is packed into a single box instead of two boxes. The earlier version had a box for the screen and another box for the overlay but this is a compact improvement on the earlier version. It also boasts of an improvement in terms of the embedded software and operating system.
According to officials of the company, the benefits of the Samsung Interactive Whiteboard includes sharing ideas and opinions freely with interactive features, such as touchscreens and interactive Whiteboard Software, building a flexible and reliable collaboration environment with high connectivity between video conference systems and other peripherals, delivering compelling presentations with interactive visuals and live edits to stakeholders to achieve key strategic business objectives as well as delivering training initiatives in which participants are active contributors.
Though an 82-inch version was used for the presentation, there is also a 65-inch version of the e-Board. The whiteboard can be applied to the different fields of human endeavours, especially in the classroom where it can be put to optimum use in a learning environment.
Features of the latest design include Narrow bezel with modern black metal design, tempered safety glass with anti-glare and moisture-repellent technology, highly responsive touch screen (hand touch and byre touch) and deeper white display.
The whiteboard which can also be used for video-conferencing and other official presentations is embedded with different wireless technology standards which allow mirroring of devices and seamlessness file transfers. It can also work as a unit in a network of more than one e-Boards.
According to officials of Samsung Nigeria, a $100 million loan facility is available in the banks for institutions that are interested in acquiring the technology. Redeemer’s University has already acquired 30 units of the previous model. Halogen Security Ltd also deploys it in its control room. An official of Redeemers University who was present at the unveiling of the latest whiteboard gave high marks to the product and spoke about how it has phenomenally enhanced the learning environment in the institution.
