The saying that a rainbow always appears after a stormy and heavy down pour holds true for media girl, Lara Owoeye-Wise who has had to cope with the loss of her son while also trying to carry out her duties as a broadcaster with African Independent Television (AIT).
Lara had hitherto been a shadow of her former self since losing her son, Timilehin Joshua Owoeye-Wise, who passed away a few years ago after a brief illness just before his 14th birthday. It was difficult trying to move past his death as she was quite close to him. But all that gloominess have obviously been lifted off as she has been appointed a Special Assistant on media to the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Yusuf Suleiman Lasun.
Even though nothing can ever replace her son, this appointment no doubts would help alleviate her unhappiness while also consolidating on her hard work in the media industry over the years. Until the appointment, Lara was the Deputy Head of Presentation, African Independent Television (AIT).
A graduate of Humanities from the University of Jos, she had previously worked in a few print publications before joining the broadcast media starting out with the defunct MINAJ television and Silverbird television.
