The Ooni of Ife who has been in the USA for some time now has returned to Nigeria Days After touring the heart of Washington DC and neighboring cities, giving talks, lectures and getting awards.
He was spotted at the Murtala Muhammed Airport on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.
One of his entourage who went with him on the journey disclosed to City People that the Ooni displayed his youthful agility as he attended no fewer than five events every day while in the United States.
His majesty was reported to have traveled to Abuja, the same day he got back from the United States for yet another official visit.
His Royal Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II visited the United States of America from June 15, 2016 to June 24, 2016 as he was hosted by Howard University with Symposium on Culture and Tourism in his honor, at the Blackburn Center, Howard University, Washington, DC.
The young, stylish monarch was also bestowed the “Peace Ambassador” award by White House Faith-Based Initiatives in Washington during the official trip.
Oba Ogunwusi also visited selected cities in the United Stated during the tour within this period as part of an initiative designed to advance the relationship between the Yoruba and the US.
Oba Ogunwusi was in Baltimore, Maryland, African Village, Sheldon, South Carolina, Mobile Alabama, Atlanta, Georgia, Arkansas and Chicago, Illinois.
The mission, according to informed sources, is to attract foreign investors for economic development in Yoruba land.

His entourage consisted of prominent Obas (kings), who also accompanied him during the visit to the United States governors and other dignitaries.
The entourage of about 80 people includes prominent Yoruba monarchs like the Orangun of Ila HRM Oba Wahab Adedotun(Bibiire 1), HRM Timi of Ede HRM Oba Munirudeen Adesola Laminisa 1, Ajero of Ijero Oba Adewole Joseph, Olubaka of Oka-Akoko Oba Yusuf Adeleye.
Also accompanying the AROLE OODUA is HRM Obama Adedapo Aderemi the Alayemore of Ido-Osun, HRM Obama Olufon of Ifon Oba Al-Moroof Magbagbeola, HRM Oba Elerinmon of Erinmo Oba Ajayi Micheal, HRM Oba Onigbaye of Igbaye Oba Joseph Morontoye, HRM Oba Alaagba of Aagba Oba Ogunwole Joseph, Alara of Ara Oodaye, Adagba of Iyanfoworogi. The Washington D.C fire brigade was so quick to storm the location after they were signaled about the smoke emanating from the venue stormed the venue.
The Fire emergency response team came in piles and the gate of the venue was filled with fire tankers and fire rescue team.
They left after they were informed it was an African traditional parade.

During the celebration Yoruba culture in New York City, a lot of foreigners who came to celebrate with the Ooni and his wife joined in paying homage to him by prostrating before which is the Yoruba’s way showing respect.

The Ooni and his queen Olori Wuraola Ogunwusi were recognized by the lawmakers at the Whitehouse, who honuored them and also took pictures with them at the chambers.
